Incredibly Poorly Made, Despite Decent Content

It is a decent book, in terms of the content, however: the pages fall out as soon as you open the cover, and so you'll need to buy a seperate 3-prong binder folder to hold your book in. Additionally, the paper is very thin, so I am quite concerned that the pages will rip while in their binded form.
Along with the poor hard copy quality, it does not seem to give you access to a digital version, so if you want to learn about abnormal psychology, the only way you can do so is through this incredibly questionablely made book.

About the Author

Peter Walker studied Classics and Early Church History at Cambridge University and has done extensive research at the post-doctoral level on Christian attitudes toward Jerusalem. Peter is now professor of Biblical Studies at Trinity School for Ministry, having previously taught at Wycliffe Hall within the University of Oxford. He has led many study tours to the Holy Land. His books include Holy City, Holy Places? (OUP); Jesus and the Holy City (Eerdmans); and In the Steps of Jesus (Zondervan). His most recent book is The Story of the Holy Land (Lion Books).

The Jesus Way is an exciting book that presents the Christian life for readers at any stage of their spiritual lives from the novice to the mature. Walker offers a substantive overview of the gospel of Jesus Christ and how we respond and obey it faithfully. The 12-chapter book consists of building blocks of the Christian faith divided into two main sections based on the Biblical chapters Luke 24 and Acts 2.

The Jesus Way guides readers into new life through Jesus Christ. Walker will settle for nothing less than his readers becoming new creations in Christ and living a new life. He writes that "We are to be an `Easter people,' bringing the resurrection light of Jesus into our local worlds--into God's world." As Easter people, Jesus becomes the center of our lives.

The book can speak to seekers of Jesus or new believers and instruct them into the new faith and life in Christ. Each building block of the book also serves as a step in becoming a Christian. Walker presents the truth of Jesus Christ and confronts readers with their own sinfulness and need for forgiveness that only comes through repentance and the cross of Jesus. He writes, "The cross of Jesus is God's answer. It is the place where we are healed, the place where sin is dealt with once and for all, the place where the barrier between us and God is decisively removed...We can never say `goodbye' to the cross, or move on to seemingly more important things."

Walker emphasizes that the Christian, through the work of Jesus and the Holy Spirit, is called to live a holy life. Christians ought to be experiencing the Holy Spirit's work in and through their lives. The Jesus Way can be a helpful resource to facilitate God's work in the believer's life. What a great and needed book

I never rate over 4 stars so I really enjoyed this book. I recently had an opportunity to meet the author and was impressed by his passion and knowledge of the subject. If someone is looking for a framework for themselves, or to teach others in the Christian life, I would say that this is a great foundational book. This book would easily fit in with a Sacramental framework or stand alone. Refreshing.

But Munnu’s is a childhood experienced against the backdrop of conflict. Bilal’s classmates are crossing over into the Pakistan-administered portion of Kashmir to be trained to resist the ‘occupation’; Papa and Bilal are regularly taken by the military to identification parades where informers will point out ‘terrorists’; Munnu’s school is closed; close neighbours are killed and the homes of Kashmiri Hindu families lie abandoned, as once close, mixed communities have ruptured under the pressure of Kashmir’s divisions.

Munnu is an amazingly personal insight into everyday life in Kashmir. Closely based on Malik Sajad’s own childhood and experiences, it is a beautiful, evocatively drawn graphic novel that questions every aspect of the Kashmir situation – the faults and responsibilities of every side, the history of the region, the role of Britain and the West, the possibilities for the future. About the Author

Malik Sajad was born in 1987, in Srinagar, Kashmir. His illustrations and stories have appeared in various local and international publications. He studied Visual Art at Goldsmiths, University of London.

Refreshing perspective on Kashmir

Beautifully told story of Kashmir and the price that citizens pay for a conflict that they have no control of...I'd recommend this book to everybody who is even remotely interested in knowing about Kashmir... This is a fresh perspective and you can't help rooting for Munnu who is as real as the author himself.

A fresh read: Incredibly written and drawn

This is a beautifully illustrated book, and very well written. I don't usually read comics or anything like that, but this book is much more than a "comic book". Great read, well crafted, illustrated, and written.

About the Author

Michael A. Smith has been involved in hockey for over 40 years as a player, coach and general manager of the New York Rangers, Colorado Rockies, Chicago Blackhawks and Team USA. He was an adviser for the National Hockey League and has traveled extensively as a lecturer and studied European training methods in Russia and Sweden. The author of six books on hockey, he lives in West Tisbury, Massachusetts.

Like Being At The Movies

Clear, concise, readable, coherent, and beautifully presented. Not a single word of nonsense anywhere. All totally straight-forward and user-friendly.

Keeping things simple is often great advice, and this book follows that philosophy exactly: it sticks to the tried and tested, and to the soundest fundamentals. (And there's never a day when the fundamentals are not required IN ABUNDANCE. In fact, most mistakes come down to breakdowns, or a lack of understanding, of the very basics. In other words, to play hockey well, you don't have to make it complicated.)

The book's key innovation is its step-by-step diagrams. They show how a play, a situation - be it defensive or attacking - evolves. This is done over several drawing; up to eight in some instances. (A single drawing just freezes a moment in time. Then you're left wondering, WHAT NOW? Not here. The diagrams function as a sort of picture show, letting you see what's next. Great stuff.)

Overall, an excellent resource, not only for players and coaches, but for goalies and fans too.

Highly recommended.
