Marigolds Grow Wild On Platforms is an anthology of railway poetry selected by well-regarded British poet Peggy Poole. The selection of poems could not be more carefully wrought, nor more tasteful and delicate. Poole is known for her own work - her most recent book, Cooee, has garnered favorable and praising reviews - but here she shows her skill as an editor. It is difficult to believe that a poet can so well craft their own work and recognize the best in others, but Poole assumes both talents, and has successfully created one of the most intriguing anthologies on a topic that may have been hard to sell, but that she has rendered necessary.

Enter the world of Office 2016

I thought that moving to Windows 10 would be a leap, but with the aid of an excellent Dummies book I was in good shape. On the other hand, Going to Office 2016 from my "pre-ribbon" Office was like climbing Everest. I guess I had fought the no-ribbon battle for so long I had refused to look at the advantages off the "new" (for me) format. It took this book, and the world having moved on, to help me tonot only accept the ribbon, but see it' advantages. I recommend this book to fellow hold-out (if any survive) as a fine way to gradually undertand the tructure and application of Office 2016.

I like the "seniors" approach. I learned a lot as I had recently purchased a new computer and was going from Windows XP with an old version of Office. Still I had questions for which I couldn't find answers in this book. I would still recommend it though.

Great ideas!

I remember my older sister using Mod Podge to make crafts, but I never had the chance to use it. Lately, I've been hearing about it so much, I figured I had better find out more about this wonder product. I've learned that Mod Podge has been around for over 40 years and is a non-toxic, water soluble glue, sealer and finish. Amy Anderson is the queen of Mod Podge and Mod Podge Rocks is her newest book. In it she tells us that when she found Mod Podge she realized she had the Holy Grail of crafting in her hands.

Mod Podge Rocks explains the six simple (but important) steps to use this medium, which dries clear and can be used on almost any surface. Mod Podge Rocks has exciting ideas to make wearables, home decor and holiday crafts. I found myself repeatedly going back to look at the awesome cowboy boots with floral fabric mod podged on to them. Love! The Pressed Leaf Pendant is such a lovely way to preserve nature, and I am excited to try this technique with all kinds of tiny objects. In looking through Mod Podge Rocks!, it quickly becomes clear that Mod Podge can be used on pretty much Everything! I was amazed at some of the things that she decoupages, like bike helmets, suitcases and pumpkins. Of course there are also the classic ideas for using Mod Podge, for instance, labels for kitchen canisters, wall plaques, photo frames and clocks. Mod Podge Rocks includes more than forty projects, so I will definitely be keeping busy, and the options sure seem limitless!

About the Author
Dr. Morris Retired senior lecturer in the Department of Automatic Control & Systems Engineering at the University of Sheffield. He has taught the undergraduate course in measurement and instrumentation for nearly 30 years, as well as undergraduate courses in robot technology, engineering design and laboratory skills, and graduate level courses in robot control, modeling and measurement for quality assurance. He is the author of eight books and more than 130 research papers in the fields of measurement and instrumentation and robot control.

Dr. Langari is a professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University and interim head of the Department of Engineering Technology and Industrial Distribution. He earned bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees from the University of California, Berkeley. He has held research positions at NASA Ames Research Center, Rockwell International Science Center, United Technologies Research Center, as well as the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory. Langari's expertise is in the area of computational intelligence with application to mechatronic systems and industrial automation. He has played a significant role in the development of theoretical foundations of fuzzy logic control and its applications to problems in mechanical engineering. His work on stability of fuzzy control systems is widely recognized as pioneering the use of nonlinear systems analysis techniques to fuzzy logic.

quite good, but incomplete

I bought this book for my lectures in sensors and instrumentation. The book is quite good but I was dissapointed on the digital transmisión protocols and inteligent devices. I found these sections quite poor. The book also skips on ISA 5.1, which is quite important for any practitioner.

The Blueprint for Wellness!

First of all, I refuse to give you a break down on the book, because if you're anything like me, you've already done your research on it and you're just trying to find out if this book really works. It does. This is a blueprint to wellness. The ingredients are inexpensive and easy to find. The program is detailed without being too cumbersome. And the results are amazing. I lost 11 pounds using just "The Remedy" 4-day cleanse. After that, I went on to do the 5-Week Program, and lost an additional 24 pounds. My skin is so clear that I don't have to wear make-up anymore. My hair has grown out to almost past my shoulders (which for a black woman is a big deal). My body is tight and toned and my skin is soft and even. My nails are longer. My eyelashes are longer too. I have so much energy. Plus, I lost 10 inches around my waist and I finally have a flat stomach. But more than that, I have peace of mind. I believe in myself and I'm fighting for my health now. I will live 'The Remedy' life forever. Wellness Salute!

A unique guide to cleansing, healing, staying youthful

The Remedy is not just another book about getting super healthy through cleansing and healthful eating. (I should know, since I have read nearly all raw food and cleansing book, and wrote one myself.) The health activist author, Supa Nova Slom, has the distinction of being known as hip-hop's Medicine Man who has helped some of music's biggest names on their road to health. While most African Americans were "the guinea pigs for the processed food industry," Supa Nova was blessed to have had a mother that raised him on wheat grass, sprouts, vegetarianism and detoxing. Raised in the hood, Supa Nova observed that "gansta life is as high-stress as any corner-office corporate gig." He and his mother educated people about health, first in the gangsta circles, then hip-hop circles, and finally in outreach education and speaking engagements. WOW. I can't imagine how being raised like that. What an edge this guy must have over those of us raised on what he calls "the Toxitarian diet"! Hi mother, Queen Afua, also writes the foreword.

Part 1 presents the remedy, a four-day cleanse. It's simple: anyone can do a four day cleanse of green drinks without medical supervision. (Nonetheless, the author advises that you seek medical advice if certain symptoms appear--probably mentioning this for legal protection since there is really nothing the doctor can do since these are detox symptoms: your body is just trying to get rid of the toxins).

Supa Nova describes how he moved beyond vegetarian or vegan and became a "cholorophyllian." I usually just chug my green drinks down since the bitter taste is not pleasant. But to hear Supa Nova describe the green elixir he devised for the four-day cleanse, I found my mouth watering. I couldn't wait to get home and try it. This will definitely be this year's "spring cleaning" method for my body. It is better than water or juice fasting because you are giving the body the nutrition and alkalyzing it needs. "My whole life I've done juice fast, the Master Cleanse, water fast--almost every kind of fast and cleanse that there is--and I can personally attest to the fact that The Remedy cleanse program is the greatest, quickest and easiest mental, physical, emotional and spiritual natural reboot I've found to date," he tells us. He makes us forgo TV during the four days, so this is a fast for the mind as well!

Part 2 outlines the 5-week cleanse for those serious about changing their lifestyle. Week one is flexitarian, eating some meat but forgoing red meat and sugar. Week two you become a vegetarian, with 50-75% of the food raw or lightly steamed. Week three you are a "supa raw food vegan." Week four is a juice fast. Week five you find your own rhythm, find what works for you from you four-week experience. No dogma--I like that. Everyone is different and we can't all be vegans, vegetarians, or 100% raw. We must listen to our own bodies.

The book also has testimonies and advice sprinkled throughout from some of the big and influential names behind the scenes and on stage in hip-hop. It includes motivational principles, history and facts behind the steps to be taken, physical exercises, and recipes (vegan, both raw and cooked). It also has recipes for juices aimed at cleansing specific organs and tissues: kidney cleanser, liver cleanser, blood builder, lymphatic flush juice, respiratory cleanser, immune booster, and colon cleanser. These refined and perfected recipes alone are worth the price of the book. They also made my mouth water and I can't wait to try them out.

The author discusses how it is hard to communicate with today's youth, and that he is a "translator." So I was expecting someone to be at least 30 or 35. But when I saw his photo, I was astounded by his radiant youth. Judging by his life experience, he probably IS at least 30 to 35--proof that all that cleansing, chlorophyll-ating and eating raw has sure kept him youthful!

I love this book. I did the 4 day detox and I lost 9lbs! It was very easy to follow and I wasn't hungry at all. I had a lot of energy and I didn't experience headaches as I have in the past when I have taken other detox products! I no longer crave sugar!

BEST TEACHING ON ROMANS 10 GIFTS

I ordered these CDs several years ago and they have truly changed my life. That's a big statement for me. I've been a Christian for over 35 years and have studied almost every book on spiritual gifts. This teaching on the Rom. 10 motivational gifts supercedes them all. They are wonderful and bring tremendous insight into why we are motivated in the ways that we individually are. Finally I was able to understand why God created me with the personality that He did. These truths have brought great freedom, healing and connection with my destiny that I didn't have before. They do not cover the manifestation spiritual gifts which many automatically think of like the word of wisdom, prophecy, miracles, etc. These CDs discuss the motivational gift mix that define your orientation to life, the key to what motivates you, etc.

This CD set should be basic for every believer and will really revolutionize your understanding of who you are, once you hear and study them.

OH MY GOSH...AMAZING! This has been so enlightening for me and my family, but especially as a parent. It has given me so much insight into how my young kids think depending on their redemptive gifts. It has been immensely helpful in how I advise them. It has really helped them in relating to other kids as school. It has given them a peek into how a person is struggling, what their strengths are, where their pitfalls are....how to help them without them even knowing it. Priceless. We see how we can help or hurt a person & situation because of the knowledge we have gained. Must have for parents at least, but I can't imagine not knowing this information period. This is beyond helpful no matter how you slice it. It's been helpful even with training animals. I know that sounds weird, but it's true. It translates into EVERY SINGLE AREA OF LIFE!

Recomiendo NO comprar este libro (por lo menos en su versión en español)

No recomiendo comprar este libro ya que no aporta realmente demasiada información sobre los años de la administración Kennedy. Las opiniones de Jackie que se presentan en este libro demuestran su desdén y desprecio por la mayoría de la gente (más que nada funcionarios del gobierno y otros mandatarios) que conoció durante los años de la Casa Blanca. Lamentablemente tampoco aporta información políticamente relevante ya que como ella misma comenta, no conversaba sobre las cuestiones políticas con el presidente por lo tanto la publicación de estas grabaciones más que contribuir a la historia oral de la Administración, contribuye a dejarnos ver un poco más de la personalidad de Jackie, no involucrada emocionalmente con las políticas del gobierno o las ideas del Presidente.
La edición en español es REALMENTE vergonzosa, la traducción es muy mala y poco confiable, al leer muchos párrafos uno se da cuenta de que la traducción está siendo literal y las frases pierden sentido.
Presentar este libro como las "conversaciones históricas sobre la vida con JFK" es crear demasiadas expectativas que el libro no cumple, para los seguidores de la bibliografía sobre los kennedy: un engaño.

Good book, however Amazon shipped it with evident water damage

I bought this book for my wife. She's enjoying it, and I would rate it higher than 3 stars... however, incredibly when I opened the package (in perfect shape) I found the book to be damaged by water. The cover and more than half of the pages had wrinkles as if it was wet and then let dry. I don't understand how Amazon ships a book in this condition. I updated the photo on the Packaging Rating section, as I can't show it here.
