Amazing Read!!

I love fast paced romances with instant love and 'Succumbing to His Fear’ had that and more! I’ve been waiting patiently to get my hands on this book and right from the start it instantly had my attention. It was funny, HOT, passionate, romantic and intense!
We meet Alfie and Fear, both of who I fell instantly in love with. Together they were right and meant for one another. They are why I read MM romances. Both their families were amazing and Alfie's Mum had me laughing so hard! Everyone should have a person like her in their life.
What amazed me so much about this book was that it totally drew me into the story that I felt I was there with them. During a totally tense scene there was a 'Star wars Moment' that had me laughing out loud!! That's what makes these characters right for this story! And what makes this story so loveable.
At the end of the book there is an excerpt for the next book "Sharpening His Broken Talon", which makes me think this could lead to a series of books with different characters. I'm already excited to get the next copy!
This book certainly didn't disappoint and is a definite recommendation from me. 5 stars all the way River Mitchell!!

Fearless, Laughter and Hotness

Do you joke when you are nervous? Well, Alfie sure does and he will keep you laughing throughout the whole story. The things he says will make you laugh out loud. He must have gotten his humor from his mother, Sheridan, who as a secondary character was brilliant, fun-loving, and at times stole the show. She is a mom that all moms should take after.
I was engaged in this story and read it in one sitting. My heart was a little saddened at the beginning from Alfie’s story and especially the letter from his father, but as soon as the little Nuggets, aka, Griffin and Lily come into the story, I started to feel the love and my heart was constantly being filled. Griffin at times, broke my heart with his fear of losing people he loves but Lily balances it by bringing in the classic kid no-fear one-liners like –
“Wow you’re big. Are you a cuddle monster? Like Sully?” Lily was asking 6’8” Fear that when she first saw him. His response? “I have no idea who Sully is, Angel, but I do love to cuddle.” At that moment I laughed and fell in love with Fear. How could I not?
Fear was just that, a cuddle monster, and a protective teddy bear behind his big tatted up frame, especially if you were lucky to be the few who were in his circle. He was never good with expressing his emotions in words, but definitely could in actions. Alfie just got him. He understood Fear. Fear thought Alfie’s “word vomit” as Alfie calls it when there is silence was perfect.
These two were complete opposites of each other, yet were amazing together. The compassion, respect and love that they showed each other was heart warming. They never pushed each other and let the pieces fall together naturally. River Mitchell wrote a brilliant story bringing these two men into each other’s lives. There was suspense and at times, I found myself holding my breath. There were twists throughout the story that kept me reading. There was sweetness and romance and found myself awing more times than not. There was deep understanding and I wish everyone could find that in everyone else. There was humor and I was laughing out loud that at times I looked around to see if anyone was watching me even though I was alone.
Whether you believe in soulmates or not, River Mitchell had Alfie express it the best as Alfie had always been straight before meeting Fear, but felt that immediate connection and knew he was the one for him.
“If you felt it, you felt it…Labels were for people who needed to define everything so they could make sense of it for themselves. I had always preferred to just live my life and let everyone live theirs.”
My only thought that could have made this story better would have been more physical description of the characters. I had a difficult time trying to make a mental visual of a complete Alfie and Fear, aside from their eye color.
Overall, I would recommend this story to everyone. This story has a little bit of everything in a good story line that touches all the emotions. The secondary characters were just fabulous and added a lot of depth. I am looking forward to what River Mitchell will write next and will most definitely grab it to read.

Insta love Romance

There’s a mystery and a cast of characters that make it a wild ride! I want to say that the kids in this story, were phenomenal! I fell in love with them just as fast as the MC’s did… Heck as fast as everyone did.
There is some suspense to this story that is placed perfectly. It is exciting and drama filled! A LOT OF DRAMA! Maybe too much? But, at the same time there is a reason for all the mess.
This is a debut novel for River Mitchell and I’d say she’s on her way. I was entertained without a doubt. It moved along without really giving you a chance to breathe which made the flow perfect.
My issues were there were way too many characters in this story. I had a hard time remembering who was who. I got confused at times and found myself stopping to try and remember who that person was. Of course it is only a moment but it did halt my progress at times. Insta love isn’t my thing but that is a personal issue and I know MILLIONS of people who adore it and this book ROCKS the insta love. If you love that, you’ll LOVE this!
There were some derogatory comments that kind of irritated me like, “I’m sorry I’m whining like a girl.” It just rubbed me the wrong way and it was repeated throughout the entire story.
Aside from those the book is fast paced, high drama, inta love with a side of fluff and mystery. If you’re looking for that this book will be the thing that scratches that itch for sure!
